Phyllis Dank has been Camp Evergreen's longest resident - she has been at Evergreen for 60 summers! You can't think of Evergreen without thinking about Phyllis. Althought we are sad to see her retire, we want to create a lasting mark on Evergreen in her honor so that she will never really leave.
Phyllis has had an impact on so many of our paths, so it seems fitting that we will be honoring her time at Evergreen by creating a special brick walking path. Brick can be personalized with names, dates, and special messages.
Where will the money go?
100% of the funds will go to Mickey's Kids - helping sustain the positive impact of camp on those who might not be able to experience it. Phyllis was married to Mickey Dank, whose vision and passion was the inspiration for the establishment of Mickey's Kids - a non-profit organization with the goal of funding camp scholarships. Sadly, Mickey did no live to see his dream become a reality.
What better way to honor Phyllis than by leaving a permanent walking path dedicated to her and Mickey's Kids. The walking path will also be an opportunity for all past Kenwood and Evergreen campers and counselors to leave their mark too.
