Jake Gaither Memorial House Foundation, Inc.
As a way of raising funds Jake Gaither Memorial House Foundation, Inc., is selling engraved pavers for the Gaither House. This was the home of Jake Gaither from 1954 until his death in 1994; he shared the home with his wife, Sadie Gaither who was long-time FAMU English professor.
With over 2,500 square feet of interior space, the Jake Gaither House serves to preserve and promote the legacy of Coach Jake Gaither. It is open to the public for historical and cultural tours and is available to rent for private special events as well as reserve for overnight lodging.
The Jake Gaither Foundation was founded in 1970. The general nature, purposes and objectives of this corporation shall be to provide scholarships, stipends and grants to disadvantaged youth, to otherwise assist students from disadvantaged circumstances in obtaining an education. To organize, promote, sponsor activities for athletic, cultural or any type of activity to secure funds to carry out the general objectives of this corporation.
